Andalusia

A place where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet, where time sometimes just seems to stand still, where Flamenco comes alive when the night falls, where hospitality, family, friends, culinary adventures and enjoying life play an important role. Andalusia, a part of Spain full of passion and temperament!

The fascinating countryside of Andalusia has many faces, breathtaking scenery, spectacular views over hills and valleys, meandering rivers and startling mountain ranges with white villages. You will find beautiful cities which reflect the rich history and cultural heritage of Andalusia. Charming Seville with its old center, royal palace Real Alcazar and cathedral with belfry Giralda. Energetic Granada with the imposing Moorish Alhambra Palace and ancient Albayzin district where you can wander through narrow streets with charming restaurants, tea shops and tapas bars in Arabic atmospheres. Picturesque Cordoba with the immense Mezquita mosque situated around a cathedral and the cosy Jewish Quarter Juderia with its nice squares and patios.

Along the coast of Andalusia you will find long sandy beaches and lively resorts. And of course Málaga. Mediterranean city and birthplace of Pablo Picasso, with some 28 museums, including the Museo Picasso, Carmen Thyssen and the Centre Pompidou. This city with traditional bodegas, the scent of jasmine and charming squares leads you from one surprise to another. At sunset, you can enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious espeto de sardinas on the beach at one of the many chiringuitos or walk through the port Muello Uno and enjoy the beautifully lit Alcazaba fortress and Gibralfaro Castle.

Andalusia offers countless possibilities for adventurers and sports enthusiasts with many outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, horseback riding, golfing, scuba diving, paddle boating, kayaking and canoeing. If you have any energy left after these activities you can go skiing or snowboarding until late spring in the Sierra Nevada (3300m), a nice ski resort near Granada, with sea views.

It does not matter if you are looking for city, beach, or rural life during your vacation, in Andalusia you will find it all within a relatively short distance from each other. Surprise yourself and embrace this beautiful part of Spain!
